When speaking with members of the General Assembly, please be sure to mention the items below.

  • US 219/220 North/South Highway Corridor: Continued funding for linking East/West highways in Pennsylvania, Maryland and West Virgina will allow for increasing economic opportunities in Mountain Maryland.
  • Local Planning: Support local government's authority to prepare and adopt Comprehensive Development Plans and preserve their autonomy to enact and implement all related land use regulations.
  • Gypsy Moths: Last year over 50,000 acres of forests in Mountain Maryland were ravished by ever encroaching Gypsy Moths. Without a serious effort to preserve Mountain Maryland's natural resources and tourism destinations through a significant appropriation to the Department of Agriculture, further defoliation will only continue.
  • Frostburg State University: Workforce development relies on adequate facilities. Continued funding for a new computer/communications building at Frostburg State University is needed to meet advanced technology needs.
